Mechatroniker (m/w/d) für automatisierte Anlagen

Position Overview

As an Automation Technician this role is in our Maintenance Team, and will be your responsible for troubleshooting and providing maintenance repairs to the cranes and other automated machinery within the automated facility. 

Your role in our team:

• Perform preventative maintenance and unplanned electrical and mechanical repairs
• Electrically and mechanically maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated equipment
• Perform planned maintenance on automated cranes, conveyors, and specialty equipment
• Analysis of component failures and single point of failure prevention and recurrences using system information
• Read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
• Inspect, repair, and replace electrical and mechanical wear and spare parts inclusive of all set-ups and calibration

Ideal candidate profile:

• Training or certification in PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an industrial automation environment or manufacturing with both mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting and repair including motors, gearboxes, chains, bearings, shafts, sprockets, gears, belts, etc.
• Rigging and hoisting experience of loads up to 1 ton
• Experienced and comfortable working with AC voltages up to 480V and controls voltage of 24V
• Must be able to work in conditions of +5C to -25C with personal protective equipment (PPE) provided including cold temperature gear, facial gear, gloves, and handwarmers
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights exceeding 20 meters after proper training, including working at heights, with personal protective equipment (PPE) provided including fall protection safety harness
• Flexibility in working hours between days, afternoons, and nights (including weekends)

• Strong problem-solving skills and a knack for understanding root causes.
• Basic understanding of mechanical operations.
• Clear and effective spoken communication skills.
• Ability to continuously walk, climb, and stand, and to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working at heights of 80-100 feet and adapting to temperature changes in a warehouse setting.

Deine Rolle in unserem Team

• Überwachung und Optimierung von Steuerungsanlagen für die vollautomatischen
  Intralogistiksysteme
• Ausführung von Inspektionen und geplanten Instandsetzungen
• Durchführung von vorbeugenden Wartungen und anfallenden Reparaturen von elektrischen/mechanischen Anlagen, Maschinen und Geräten
• Begleiten des täglichen Produktionsbetriebes und Störungsbehebung
• Fehleranalyse und -behebung der auftretenden Störungen

Your role in our team

• Monitoring, operation, fault correction, and housekeeping of automated material handling equipment in a fast-paced production environment
• Clear machine faults efficiently using logic, which may involve working at heights of up to 30 metres wearing appropriate PPE
• Literacy, numeracy, and IT proficiency to read, understand, interpret, and maintain data and fault information within the system with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene
• Partner with, and support, the maintenance team to ensure that the machines remain in excellent condition and notify them of any anomalies
• Complying with all safety guidelines and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff

• Demonstrated commitment to safety, attention to detail and ability to problem solve
• A genuine interest in automation and technology, with the aptitude to learn new concepts and procedures
• Strong communication, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Must be willing and able to work rotating shift work (including days, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays) 
• Ability to accurately identify colours including red, blue, white, yellow, and green
• Meets the physical fitness requirements including:
  - Frequent walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing for long periods of time
  - Working at heights of up to 30 metres (wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE)
  - Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 25kgs unassisted

Ideal candidate profile:

• Preferred: Associate's degree in industrial technology or related field with 2-4 years
  experience in relevant electrical and/mechanical role
• Experience maintaining material handling systems in a light industry or distribution center environment strong preferred
• Must be able to work all shifts (non-rotation) including evenings or nights, weekends, and holidays
• Mandatory overtime may be required due to operational requirements
• Working at heights of up to 80-100 feet wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE
