Position:  PLC Programmer – Telecommute PositionPerform system tests on economic and automated logistics systems. Assist during ramp-up of economic and automated logistics systems on worksites. Program, commission, and test Siemens, Beckhoff, and Vipa PLC. Design, program, test, and resolve faults for PLC-related architecture for automated material handling applications. Install, test, and troubleshoot automation equipment such as electrical control panels, motors, actuators, VFDs, switchgear, scanner/printers, stackers/destackers, separators, transfer carts, and vertical conveyors. Commission, start-up, and perform acceptance testing of complete system at customer facilities. Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to subcontractors, service members, and onsite team members. Provide individualized coaching/teaching in programming and commissioning of electronic systems. Provide daily objectives, develop reward systems for productivity that motivate new hires and seasoned workers alike and communicate any issues with upper management to reach business goals effectively. Ability to manage a global team. Manage employee headcounts through effective workforce planning, drive responsible labor costs, and support results-driven team structure. Serve as leader of a team to realize Witron’s projects in the US and Canada with OPM (Order Picking Machinery) and AIO (All in One) Systems combined. Lead and work with a multidisciplinary team to complete the installation in schedule. Responsibilities include project management, scrum, project coordination, training, customer service, and delegating tasks to senior electromechanics and software development. May telecommute from any location in the U.S. 85% domestic/international travel to customer sites and optimizing systems for improved efficiency. This position requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent and five (5) years of related experience in commissioning / PLC knowledge and skills. Must also have each of the following: (1) 24 months of experience in a leadership role in an industrial, manufacturing or logistics environment; (2) 12 months of experience with reading and understanding electrical schematics and drawings; (3) 12 months of experience with programming and testing of PLC systems and machines like COM’s , Cranes, CRS Sequencers, Depals, Wrappers, and Conveyors; (4) 12 months of experience with working with AC and DC control systems, troubleshooting electrical control systems, and working with automated material handling systems; (5) 12 months of experience with working with PLC logic, basic logistics, and supply chain principles; (6) 12 months of experience with testing and configuring software, components, and networks to meet customer standards and managing customer requests; and (7) 12 months of experience with working with electrical motors, servo motors, and VFD/Servo drivers. Will accept experience gained concurrently. Candidates must past a drug test before beginning employment. 85% domestic/international travel to customer sites and optimizing systems for improved efficiency. Supervises approximately 29 subordinate and peer positions with titles such as Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technician. Full-time, position may telecommute from anywhere in US. HQ at Arlington Heights, IL.
