Job Summary:The Technical Trainer is responsible for coordinating all training related activities for our sites across the United States. The Technical Trainer will lead the design, development, pilot, delivery and evaluation of innovative learning solutions that support our client partnership and employee developmentDuties/Responsibilities:Responsible for the development, design, implementation, and delivery of multi-level department training programs for WIOSS employees.Develop continuous improvement of training program to impact overall employee productivity and performance.Schedules training and maintains training records.Evaluates training delivery and provides feedback.Coaches trainees and on-site trainers and provides skills assessment evaluation.Utilizes most appropriate learning methods including computer-based training, simulation, on-the-job training and classroom. Monitors overall effectiveness of training programs.Outsource training as needed. Conduct training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed. Manage and maintain training equipment.Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials.Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs.Gather feedback from trainees after each educational session.Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design and content.Audit internal departmental standard operating procedures and work instructions.Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities: Proven work experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator, or similar roleProven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor & evaluate)Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignmentsStrong communication skills.Ability to document training, processes, procedures, etc. for employee use. Ability to consult with Senior/Specialist staff members on some technical issues.Experience communicating with senior level staff and customers as needed. Must be able to travel 80% of the time. Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum 3 years of experience as an electro-mechanical technician, automation maintenance or maintenance management.2 years of experience training others in a technical / hands-on capacity.Physical Requirements:Warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from +34 degrees to -15 degrees Continuous walking, climbing and standingLifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 pounds Ability to adapt to temperature changes in a warehouse environmentFrequent Travel to WITRON Sites across the United States

Your role in our team 

Joining our brand-new site team, the opportunities for motivated employees are unlimited - you'll get the opportunity to commence your training at our Redbank, QLD site (working 2 weeks on, 1 off you'll have paid flights, accommodation, vehicle and a daily travel allowance); and you'll also have the chance to express your interest to progress into Team Management and Support roles as our structure and team grow. 

Working as part of a cross functional team you'll primarily support daily operations by resolving system faults of both technical and operational nature to maximize system performance. 

On any given day, this may include:

  • Monitoring, operation, fault correction and housekeeping of automated material handling equipment in a fast-paced production environment. 
  • Clear machine faults in a timely and efficient manner using logic, which may include working at heights of up to 30 meters wearing appropriate PPE. 
  • Literacy, numeracy, and IT proficiency to read, understand, interpret, and maintain data and fault information within the system with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene. 
  • Partner with, and support, the maintenance team to ensure that the machines remain in excellent condition - and notify them of any anomalies. 

Ideal candidate profile 

  • A genuine interest in automation and technology, with the aptitude to learn new concepts and procedures. 
  • Must be willing and able to work rotating shift work (including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays). 
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, attention to detail and critical thinking. 

Meet the physical requirements including:

  • Frequent walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Working at heights of up to 30 meters (wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE). 
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing up to 25kgs unassisted.
  • Visual acuity to interpret light systems for fault finding that include red, green, blue, white and yellow.
