Summary:The Maintenance
Planner’s key responsibility is to support the team in ensuring equipment
capability, reliability and availability is maximized to the extent required to
support the customer. The Maintenance
planner is responsible for ensuring weekly work order completion targets are enabled
through effective planning, organization and communication with the maintenance
and operations team.Supervisory Responsibilities:Individual ContributorDuties/Responsibilities:Conduct all actions with and inspire among all colleagues a Safety-First mindsetPromote compliance with all relevant company policies and
government regulations including OSHAMaximize operating effectiveness using planned maintenance
(preventive, inspection, planned repairs) through generated work orders. Prepare planned work in advance of due date so that availability to
complete work is optimized. This
should include coordination with Operations (Manual and Automation), the
Spare Parts Manager (SPM), and the Maintenance Manager (MM). Work with all team members and available reports to make
improvements to maintenance schedule to include task lists and frequency.Maintain a weekly schedule that is organized by shift and finalized
at least three weeks in advance.Weekly schedule should ensure resource allocation goals are met
with enough work planned to achieve at least an 80% completion rate and EM
utilization goals. Work with site CI (Continuous Improvement) team members, Safety,
and other leaders to properly plan, schedule and enable completion of
improvement projects. Maintain open and transparent relationships with customer and other
vendor contacts to ensure maximum support to internal maintenance team.Review all parts usage for timely inventory booking and assess for
opportunities to improve (new parts, better min/max, component/assembly
improvements). Manage serial number
parts and work with SPM to ensure warranty claims are identified.Serve as a resource to SPM for cyclic and annual inventory
activities. Manage the internal repair shop processes and assist SPM with
external shop repairs.Follow established escalation guidelines in the event of system
downtime or irregular operations.When needed; participate and lead team and site meetings to ensure open, effective communications centered on collaborative efforts to meet production goals.
Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to coordinate and manage multiple resources to include
materials, manpower, skillset, equipment availability, production
schedulingStrong understanding of automated equipmentFamiliarity with logistics and supply chain principlesPractical attitude and ability to learn new skills and tasksStrong communication skills Analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Knowledge of OSHA Safety guidelinesEducation and Experience:Required: High school diploma with 1-3 years’ experience as a
planner, lead or supervisor in a maintenance department. (manufacturing or
related environment)Preferred: Associates degree in a relevant subject with 3-5 years’
experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance.Familiarity with automated manufacturing or material handling
systems strongly preferred.Physical Requirements:Ability to work at heights of 80-100 feet.Ability to adapt to a warehouse environment with temperatures
ranging from 34˚C to ˉ15˚C (93.2˚F to 5˚F).Ability to lift and carry materials/equipment necessary to do the job.Ability to walk/stand during a designated shift.Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs.Occasional travel within North America may be
required to undergo training and/or support sister sites; rare
international travel may be necessary in support of company-wide
initiatives.Must be able to work all shifts including
evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.Must be available by phone 24/7 in the event of
irregular operations and/or escalation.
