The US Engineering Team needs an expert who can track system and component failure patterns within our WIOSS sites. This position will partner with our Spare Parts, Engineering, and Design departments to test, track, and recommend long term and cost-effective engineering adaptations to Witron technology.
Primary ResponsibilitiesPartner with our European counterpart to ensure maintenance strategies are in alignment.Focused on tracking component failures by cost, frequency, and performance loss.Linked with many other Engineering departments.Report and deliver RCA reports with follow-up recommendations.Assist the US PLC & Controls specialist team with project implementation.Assist the US Mechanical Engineering team with project implementation.Update the US leadership with team projects and timelines to completion.Coordinate with all US sites on recommended adaptations.Familiarity and ability to use and conduct research within our Witool CMMS platform.Works with Europe on forming obsolescence contingencies and works with Training Team to form courses on obsolescence improvements.
Education & Experience5 + Years of experience in the following:Technical experience in production environments that utilize a range of mechanical automation and material handling equipment as well as electrical systems and PLCsTechnical experience in an industrial environment with production or manufacturing equipmentPreferred: Associates degree or Certificate in a relevant subject with 3-5 years' experience in an Engineering or Technical role in a fast-paced warehouse, light industry, or related environmentFamiliarity with automated material handling systems strongly preferred.Certificates of training in industrial controls, process engineering, lean manufacturing, or root cause analysis.
Skills and Knowledge
Ability to coordinate meetings, projects, and deadlinesKnowledge and basic skills in Lean Manufacturing and Project Management.Strong understanding of automated material handling systemsKnowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical measuringFamiliarity and/or experience with:Electrics/mechanics in drive technology (motors/gears)Control technology (controls/inverters)3 Phase 480v, DC and 24v ControlFamiliarity with basic logistics and supply chain principlesAnalytical and problem-solving skillsAble to prioritize multiple tasks and workloadProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Knowledge of OSHA Safety guidelinesExtensive maintenance knowledge including job planning and coordinationCMMS and data handling proficiencyRoot Cause Analysis, Pareto Charts, The 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Scatter Diagrams, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
TravelThis position will require the availability to travel. Travel will can be coordinated with US leadership if required.
Scheduling & AvailabilityMust be able to work all shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidaysMust be available by phone 24/7 in the event of irregular operations and/or escalationPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in cold environmentsAbility to work at heights of 80-100 feetAbility to walk/stand during a designated shiftLifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 pounds
