Three weeks in Ireland
–Our apprentices go on a language trip
From the fabled ruins of ancient castles to traditional Irish food in the pubs, there's more to a language school in Ireland than just improving your language skills.
From March 24 to April 13, 2024, Luisa and Ewald, two of our apprentices in office management at the headquarters in Parkstein, experienced an unforgettable language trip in Ireland.
As soon as they arrived, Luisa and Ewald were warmly welcomed by their Irish host family. They experienced the everyday life of the Irish first-hand. This experience was an important part of their journey for both of them, helping them to better understand not only the language but also the culture.
In the mornings, they attended classes at the Galway Language Centre. There they worked intensively on their English skills and made new friends. In the afternoon, they devoted themselves to their project work. After all, the successful completion of the language trip includes the development of a company portfolio. As part of the project work, Luisa and Ewald worked in a team of four people on a concept for an app - "UniVenture - The perfect app for students to network with other students". The aim of this app is to offer students a platform where they can exchange ideas and network.
Luisa and Ewald also used the time off to get to know Ireland better. Highlights of their leisure activities included:
- A trip to Dublin, where they explored the impressive sights of the capital.
- Basketball games with the neighbors, which were not only athletically challenging, but also very entertaining.
- Joint restaurant visits with the class, where they could taste Irish cuisine and socialize.
- A visit to a traditional Irish distillery, where they learned more about the production of Irish whiskey.
At the end of the three weeks, Luisa and Ewald had to pass an exam, which they successfully did. In recognition of their achievements and commitment, they received the certificate "Kauffrau/-mann International (AHK)", which officially confirms their newly acquired language and technical skills.
Luisa's final conclusion about the trip: "It was an enriching experience and I can highly recommend a language trip."
