Creating Global Impact Through Local Education
–Issaka Ardaly’s Commitment to Empowerment
Issaka Ardaly is a project coordinator at WITRON and simultaneously CEO and CTO of the social enterprise Gabera. Since 2003, he has lived in Germany and is passionately committed to the project “Education in Niger.” His inspiring story and the impactful work he does in both Niger and Germany demonstrate how personal experiences and visions can evolve into a powerful movement—across borders.
What is Gabera?
Gabera is a social enterprise based in Switzerland and Niger. Its mission is to drive positive societal change through technology. Issaka plays a dual role: as a project coordinator at WITRON and as a trainer and mentor at Gabera. His goal is to identify young talent and transform them into skilled professionals through hands-on training.
The selection process at Gabera is thorough and carefully designed. Issaka emphasizes that identifying true talent among all applicants is not easy. The process begins with a self-assessment, followed by interviews and the so-called Evaluation Days, where candidates showcase their skills and character—such as during Robotics Days, where participants build autonomous robots. This is followed by bootcamps that deepen their knowledge. The top candidates are then trained over 1–2 years to become professionals—both in Niger and in Germany.
WITRON’s Role
Issaka highlights WITRON’s crucial role in the project: thanks to the company’s financial and structural support, the initiative became possible in the first place. WITRON provides essential resources and a realistic learning environment where talents can gain practical experience. Issaka notes: “This is the WITRON culture—everyone lives it, making all of this possible.”
He especially values the straightforward and solution-oriented collaboration with WITRON. Challenges are tackled together and resolved quickly. “Together we make it happen” is not just a motto—it’s a lived reality, from leadership to production. WITRON also brings extensive experience in integrating international colleagues. Employees play a key role in welcoming the talents and easing their transition.
A Personal Dream Come True
For Issaka, Gabera is more than just a project—it’s a heartfelt mission. In the interview, he shares his dream of becoming an IT specialist and how he got the opportunity to come to Germany and work at WITRON. Out of a desire to offer the same chance to other young people, Gabera was born.
The close collaboration with WITRON has made this dream a reality. Despite all challenges, Issaka’s joy prevails—joy over the successes, the teamwork, and the synergies that emerge across continents.
Looking Ahead
Issaka hopes the project will continue to thrive. His dream is to bring people and cultures together and elevate the WITRON spirit of togetherness to a global level.
